About Solecular

Solecular brings together some of the brightest minds in data science and workload orchestration to optimize server and energy efficiency in cloud IT.  Founded in 2017 by Sri Sukhi and Brian Atwood, we are a fast-growing investor-funded startup based in Sunnyvale, California.

Founders

Sri Sukhi
Founder & CEO
Sri Sukhi is a seasoned leader and visionary in the technology industry, having led innovative teams at companies such as Data Domain, Oracle, Exablox, and EMC. He has deep architectural expertise in workload orchestration, resource management, system software, servers and storage appliances. Sri is dedicated to applying his data science education from Stanford to ensure the effective use of energy for IT infrastructure.
Brian Atwood
Co-Founder & VP of Customer Success
Brian Atwood has worked to help customers his whole career — leading top-notch technical support and sales engineering teams. A startup veteran, Brian was the first customer-focused employee at Data Domain, ultimately acquired by EMC for $2.4B. He held leadership roles at EMC, Veritas, Auspex and Exablox, and spent his formative years at HP. Brian puts customers first and is their internal champion.
Douglas Cheline
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Doug brings a wide breadth of experience, including management, product leadership, marketing, and sales. He has deep experience leading teams in OTT Video and Voice, Telco, CDN, Cloud Computing and ML.

Dr. Geoff Barrall
Advisor
Geoff Barrall is the CTO for Infrastructure at Hitachi Vantara. He brings tremendous IT industry knowledge, and rich technology and operational experience to the team. He is a seasoned executive, having served on multiple boards and advisory boards and as CEO, CTO, COO, SVP Marketing, SVP Engineering and SVP Services over the years. A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Barrall founded Connected Data, Drobo, BlueArc, Network Alliance, and VCI Systems. He has a PhD in Cybernetics from University of Reading.
Kevin Herrin
Advisor
Kevin Herrin is the VP of Infrastructure Platform Engineering at Dell Digital. He has built global hyper-scale clouds and guided some of the world’s largest enterprise infrastructure transformations. Kevin is an expert in enterprise architecture and cloud service management. Kevin has held leadership positions at Sun, Cingular, AT&T, EMC, VMware and Virtustream. Kevin is now serving on several advisory boards and leading a company he founded, Technology Pathfinders Consulting. Kevin received the EMC president’s award (Highest honor at EMC) and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Jay Kidd

Jay Kidd was a partner at Wing Venture Capital, CTO and CMO at NetApp, CTO and VP of Product Management at Brocade, and held executive positions at HP, SGI, and others. He is an industry expert at swiftly finding product-market fit and developing product roadmaps. Jay has extensive experience in storage, networking, software and high-performance systems. Jay holds a BS of EE and CS degree from Princeton University.
Amir Michael
Advisor
Amir has a long history of building scale out infrastructure, most recently as Vice President of Engineering at Salesforce. Prior to Salesforce Amir was CEO and co-founder of Coolan, a cloud based server management platform which was acquired by Salesforce in 2016. Before founding Coolan Amir led Facebook's hardware teams responsible for the design and implementation of servers that power some of the most-trafficked sites in the world. He co-founded the Open Compute Project and plays an active role in sharing custom-engineered technology for large-scale data centers. Amir also worked at Google where he developed server and data center infrastructure, including Google's first customized facilities and hardware.
Mark Thiele

Mark Thiele’s successful career in IT has focused on driving innovation, efficiency and cloud adoption across enterprises of all sizes. In his current role at Ericsson, he focuses on edge cloud in the network and telco vertical. Prior to joining Ericsson, Mark was CIO and Chief Strategy Officer at Apcera (acquired by Ericsson). Mark held executive roles at HP, Gilead, VMware, and Switch SUPERNAP and contributes to numerous industry nonprofits. He is the president and founder of Data Center Pulse. He is a prominent speaker and serves on several boards of directors and advisory boards.
Saurabh Srinivasan

Saurabh Srinivasan is the VP of Corporate Development, Strategy & Product Business Operations at Nutanix. He brings deep operational, finance and industry expertise to the team. Saurabh has over 20 years of experience, working with high-growth technologies companies. Previously, Saurabh was an Executive Director and head of J.P. Morgan’s Cloud Infrastructure investment banking practice. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Saurabh held lead roles at Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab and Deloitte. He is a frequent speaker and also serves on the advisory boards of technology companies and educational institutions.
